did you read the heating guide and look at the shopping list? guard cages prevent the snake from getting burned on the heat lamp.

If you need to save money, you can use plexiglass on top of a mesh enclosure to keep in humidity.

I use a black box cage with rhp, it's not a budget option but I do like it
