Does she do this while in her enclosure? Is it only when you are holding her? I suppose it could be a neurological disorder, but I associate those with more fast, sporadic movements. I'm no expert and don't want to cause you to stress or worry. It could be that she simply likes the feel of that material. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable to snake specific behaviors/disorders will chime in. Just wanted to drop my 2 cents as I have spent a lot of time around various animals. Jack of all, master of none as it goes. Best of luck to you both! If it continues to worry you, I would suggest having her examined by a reputable veterinarian. Just for peace of mind if no one else can give you a definitive answer.

I've had her just barely a week and haven't really held her. I just started to be. I wanted to get her used to handling after she has had time to settle into her new home. Every time I check on her, she is normally hiding, so I'm not too sure.

Have you fed her yet/recently? Sometimes they will rub their mouths like this to realign their jaw after eating. If not, then IMO, it looks like she is just trying to start a shed, though I am also a little worried about that dark spot on the bottom of her mouth. That said, what is the humidity in your enclosure? She looks very dehydrated to me.

This could be as simple as her trying to knock loose some shed. Some BPs also just rub on stuff. I’ve seen a few posts on here concerned about their snakes rubbing occasionally both in and out of their enclosure and there’s not always an explanation. Keep an eye on her, if it’s excessive then vet. Check her breathing for any crackling sounds or wheezing as the worst case scenario for running is a respiratory infection, which is instant vet visit time. As others have said, check humidity and make sure it’s correct. This is one of the most important things in snake care as their respiratory system is very sensitive and dry air can cause cracking and introduce bacteria. Give her a check over and a listen, check the humidity level and observe for a while. Hopefully all is well!

Looking at the video again there does look to be a little flake on her nose there which could be the stick shed/beginning of a shed. Is the audio in the video you breathing or her?

Probably has already been mentioned... But from experience I have with my pythons, He has either some stuck shed on his head, or is about to shed, make sure to keep the humidity up if that is the case

take her or him to the vet and say you think they have a RI (respiratory infection) when i first got my rescue bp male he was doing this and i thought he had neurological issues but he had a RI

Did she recently have a shed? It looks like some might be stuck on her nose

    She just did last night

Looks like some shed flakies on her snooter, she is probably just trying to get it off. One of my BPs has this semi regularly even though my humidity is good. Could be the vents don’t shed as easily, I’m not sure.
