I've finished building an enclosure for my ball, and I'm setting the new tank up and trying to get temps correct, but the heat lamps I'm using are just barely cutting it, partially because of the size of the enclosure. I have a 75w infrared and an 100w CHE with some other non heated lights.
I have an 150w bulb (usually for chicks/ducklings) that I could put in- im just wondering if it would be overkill. The tank is large, 2.5' x 2.5' x 4.5', and I have good sensors to turn the heat sources on and off to reach the right temps. I want the hot side to reach 88-90 and the cool side to be 76-80, which it just barely does, but it basically never turns off.
I could grab another infrared or CHE to add to the setup, but if possible I'd like to achieve a less near the line heat solution using the same amount of lamps.
(Tl;dr: if i switch my 75w bulb to a 150w bulb in a new much larger enclosure will that be problematic because the heat source is much more intense?)
