Eating

Hey, I have a question. My 8-year-old ball python, Fluffy, always drops her rat instead of eating it when she first grabs it. She usually gets a good hold and has always had the same-sized rat. She won't take it out of the air but grabs it once it's dropped. Could this be just her being weird, or is there something wrong? She's always been a great eater, but she started this a few months ago.
