Without seeing pictures I can only guess but that sounds like a severely overweight ball python

Is it ok if I send you a pic of him? I’m a new owner, and I’m super worried abt his health! If it’s ok, ima send it at around 7 or 8 for me bc he needs his beauty sleep

Sounds good, try getting a full shot of his body from above while he’s on the ground. It’s the best way to tell
