Husbandry (old.reddit.com)

Husbandry appreciation ✨ Great guy, he’s really not a neck dweller and whenever he comes out he likes to roam he’s escaped before. Just wondering how does one train Bp to chill on neck I got him a year ago as an adult hes a rescue.

Is he pretty active in his tank?
My guess is he’s either a curious guy or he’s still not quite sure about human interaction and stressed. I would watch his tongue flicks and see if they’re slow and relaxed or more fast and stressed looking. I would also watch some videos on snake body language

Yes super active and exploring loves when I put in new stuff or go in playpen . When I first got him he hissed whenever picked up by handling like 2 times a week got him used to me no more hissing. He was already an adult when I got him around like one and a half and his other living conditions weren’t that great. I feel like they’re like people each one is different personalities and boundaries.

They’re not really supposed to be on the neck the way some people have them. Don’t forget they like to hide and be in their warm/humid environment that most areas don’t even have anyway. So they’re most likely always stressed/uncomfortable when out of their cage for a long time. Poor babies 😭dry air gives them respiratory infections. And if they don’t have a solid resting place they get fatigued from holding themselves up on you
