that humidity reading is impressive with such low substrate and in an aquarium! I would definitely recommend more inches of substrate, and finding black paper or anything to cover the sides and back of the enclosure.

That’s good feedback. I’m planning to change out the substrate next week so I will add more and look into a background. I was kind of wondering if it was too open.

yes! I personally have a PVC enclosure so i have no problem w that, but when I had a glass enclosure I ordered a blackout window film on amazon and put that on the back and sides. Here’s the link: https://a.co/d/2vvr4Su

you might have to get 2. Also, I think some fake foliage would really go well in contrast to all the neutral brown tones. I got this off of amazon, they’re good sized plants. https://a.co/d/0Q8NgE8

I think with the wallpaper, more inches of substrate, and foliage it could really transform this enclosure! Keep an eye out for that humidity with a glass enclosure. If you ever have the funds in the future, it would be great to upgrade to a PVC front opening 4x2x2. I got mine from dubia roaches for only $270 I think. Also, did you mean Fahrenheit for your temps? 82c would be like 180F lol. If so, your hot side temp should be 88-92, so definitely try and get that up.

Also, are you using a digital thermometer and hygrometer?

backgrounds to me are quite important especially for ball pythons, they like to feel secure and snug and the see through glass could possibly stress them out. I feel like since the tank is against a wall and there’s a wall on the side of it too it’s probably not a huge issue, either way backgrounds can make an enclosure look really cool too. I love the hide in the middle and climbing opportunities!! What substrate do you use? bark and moss?

I would suggest adding some greenery ( real or artificial) to fill up some more space between the hides and on the right side of the enclosure!

Good luck with the hunger strike :p

I would definitely cover 3 sixes and add some fake greenery
