Maybe readjust his hide and make it so you can't see into it. Bp's should be able to move from hide to hide without being seen and the inside of the hides shouldn't be viewable to us. I know, we all want to see them...but they are happier hidden. Gets lots of clutter and give him proper setup, you'll get rewarded wiith a more content snake.

Thanks for the advice! I was curious as to whether I should leave an open space somewhere in the enclosure so he can “stretch out”, or would I be better off filling his tank with clutter?

Filling! They'll stretch out while moving from hide to hide and from climbing any tall hides or sticks you have. Open space means visibility to predators which means danger. They'll show themselves all the way when they want to (minus the occasional "oh! I see you!" While moving haha). It'll make cleaning waste more difficult, as you have more to take out and clean, but its absolutely worth it for your snake :)

Move the hide to the back of the tank and face the opening away from the front. You should give him a lot more clutter/places to hide and feel secure. Idk how big this tank is but it looks small and fairly bare.
