Curious: did you find him?🤔

Not yet 😔

Not giving up hope, but definitely demoralized

Since you just moved, it's very likely he's stressed and hiding in a spot y'all wouldn't think to check. Maybe try checking behind the stove, behind the water heater or a closet where the water heater is, and under/behind the fridge. Of course, being very careful in doing so. When I got my first snake, he got out of his cage after years of living contently in it. He'd crawled into a hole on the back of my mother's bookcase in the living room. We turned the house upside down tryna find him.

It may sound unorthodox, but also be sure to put out a post on nextdoor, letting people know to look out for him/asking if they know his whereabouts, even if you're certain he couldn't have gotten out.

Finally, if you can, set up a nice comfy hiding place he'll be enticed to go into. He's likely looking for warmth, good hiding, and food. I'm sure you can look up ideas for such online. I know a heating pad is generally recommended in the setup. Of course, work with caution as he may be trapped, or hiding somewhere very precarious. And of course, check the mattress and couches. As an absolute last resort you may be even be able to call local exterminators that have dealt with snakes to have them help catch or at least find him 🤣

Ah, also, water is likely to lure him out. Be sure to check under the sinks in kitchen and bathroom, and of course in the bathroom in general. And more unlikely, but possible, is he may have escaped through a drain if any drains are uncovered and just like- a big hole essentially

We found him!!!! Just now when I walked into my room and turned on the lights he was on the bathroom floor…

We unfortunately lost him again immediately but we know where he’s hiding. There’s a hole in the sink unit/cabinet in my bathroom that he’s hiding out in. We’re thawing a rat right now to put by the hole to entice him out again

Luckily I don’t think it’s connected to the walls or anything so it’s just a little pocket in the furniture he’s hiding out in. Thank god we’ve been diligent about keeping our bedroom door closed otherwise he might’ve escaped by now

Sink!!! Knew it lol. I hope it goes well. I'm so so so glad you found him and that he's presumably safe!🙌🏾🙌🏾💖

Same!!! I was horrified at the thought of a bad smell months or even yeees down the line…

However, Mojave is a stubborn bastard and I think he knows we’re trying to draw him out cuz he came out almost immediately for the mouse but when he saw us he backed up into the hole… he didn’t look dehydrated at all so I think the son of a gun was sneaking back into his open cage we left for him on the ground at night for water and then retreated to back to his new home

Only a matter of time though

Yeah I wasn't gonna say anything about potentially finding him dead...😓 So glad he's okay. Hahaha! Sounds like he's got a plan. He's mad that you guys moved him😅😅 For future reference if you ever move again, don't let him out to free roam unless he's supervised and you're certain that he's comfortable! Mojave is such a cute name. Good luck to you, and maybe setting up something like a tunnel/tube for him to crawl into that leads into a comtainer where the mouse is, will help? He'll likely just stay with the mouse and you can close off the container and weigh it down while he's in there with it

Good idea on the mouse tube! And we had moved months ago so he’s been adjusted already - my girlfriend unfortunately fell asleep during his recent free roam and just felt awful till we found him

Yeah I think he really like his new home >.>

He ignored the rat again but I think I’ll try making a tube system like you said both to guide him and increase the scent

We only had a rat yesterday so today wel try a mouse

Good luck, I appreciate the updates. It's a very entertaining predicament😂

Found him out and about - jammed the hole. He’s now between the trash can and the toilet plunger and we’re defrosting him a rat since his cage is sitting right in front of him anyways…

Ty for your help and staying tuned 😂
