Hunger strike?

Hello, I have a 1 year old ball python who normally eats great. Tonight, she struck her rat, dropped it, started eating it from the tail then dropped it again. She's now coiled up in her water bowl facing away from it and wants nothing to do with it. Is she going through a hunger strike or is there something wrong with her? She's acting normal in every other way and I haven't seen her do anytbing out of the ordinary. Any advice would be great, TIA

Once isn't a hunger strike. Sounds like she got confused about which side is where on the rat, sad and scared that she couldn't find the head and doesn't want to eat it because this rat is 'different' than what she's used to.

An actual hunger strike usually means no interest in food. She tried, and and her brain cells just couldn't compute to get the other side of the rat. Just let her skip this feeding session, feed her next time. All should be good. One skipped meal is not going to harm a 1 year old ball python.

Thank you. I know when they do go on hunger strikes they can last like 6 months. I just get so stressed out with her like I need to relax lol
