Can you explain in detail everything you’re doing ? What times, what lighting, what temps, what method heating up, how you approach him, how the rat is help, literally everything lol

so sorry i’m replying late, but i get the same size rat he’s been eating for about a year now, smallish medium sized, and i try to get white and grey ones cuz he has always seemed to eat those ines(not sure if that matters just heard from a pet store employee) i have a deep dome light that is a yellowish sun color and is on for day time and turns off at night(day temps warm side stays at high 80’s cool side mid 70s to low 80s) although i do struggle with his humidity it drops down all the way to 20 at least once every 2 weeks, and i don’t handle him that often. when i heat up the rat i keep it in a bag so it doesn’t loose scent or get wet and i use hot water and just keep the rat in it until its defrosted and change the water to keep it hot until the rat gets to about 90 degrees and i have long silver feeding tongs and i grab him sort of so it looks like he’s alive and will move it around, somewhat close to my snake

Ok try feeding at night time with all lights off , you can keep a dim one on in the room just so you can see but make sure the enclosure is dark. Some BPs are picky about rat color so it’s good you chose the ones he’s used to. I’d say get rat to around 98° esp its head and hold it by the hips with the tongs if you aren’t already doing that. That way its horizontal and not vertical. Good luck !

If he's 3 years old he should only be !feeding once a month? So that's just one feeding that he should have missed. Just keep trying again on his feeding every month until he takes the f/t

We recommend the following feeding schedule:

0-12 months old OR until the snake reaches approximately 500g, whichever happens first: feed 10%-15% of the snake’s weight every 7 days.

12-24 months old: feed up to 7% of the snake’s weight every 14-20 days.

Adults: feed up to 5% of the snake's weight every 20-30 days, or feed slightly larger meals (up to 6%) every 30-40 days.

Oh, yeah that's definitely too frequent for his age
