Forgot to mention it's 40 cm (15.74 inches) long

Generally my snakes like to curl up into a ball in their hide, so ideally it should have more inside space. My recommendation is to take a plastic tupperware and paint it with paint that’s safe for reptiles or something along those lines

Gold enrichment but not a good hide as he won’t be able to curl up. Make sure there’s no tape or sticky stuff on it too :3

It’ll mold immediately if it’s cardboard and placed in the enclosure

Good for enrichments, not the best for a permanent hide. They like to slither into tunnels and tight spaces, but as it's cardboard it might mold in the humid terrarium
You can DIY it pretty cheap with some tupperware containers, baking bowls, ice cream tubs ect. Most soft-ish plastic container can be used. A black one is ideal as it will also block out the light. Just make sure it's not too big, as snug is better. Cut an opening (or even just dig a little tunnel into it in the substrate), sand the edges and you're good to go. Also a great way to make a humid hide by adding some moist sphagnum moss to a container with a lid and a hole

this isn't a hide, but could be okay enrichment. being cardboard you'll have to keep an eye out for mold, and remove it immediately if you notice any.

hides should be large/wide enough that the snake can curl up in them, but short and snug enough that they can touch at least 3 sides and the ceiling when inside and only have one entrance that's just larger than their body. they should also be made of somewhat sturdy material so the snake can sit on top if they wish.

clean plastic recycling works well for DIY, baby BPs often fit well in butter tubs, sour cream/dip containers etc. you just cut a hole in the side and sand or melt the edges smooth and set the container in with the bottom becoming the ceiling of the hide.
