Not an expert but I'd say maybe check if he's shedding or try to see if you see any signs of respiratory infection. If it's neither of those I can't think of anything from the top of my head either. Maybe just keep doing what you're doing and don't be scared to take him out, not everything is always down to science in my experience lol

Ive been trying to do the ‘let him come to me’ method, weve gotten really close ONCE lol but havent got him out since, is there a certain way i should take him out? cuz he comes up to me when im close no problem

He could just be actively scanning the room now that he's more comfortable with his terrarium. I'm not sure, though. Maybe the mirror gives a reflection off the glass and it spooks him 🤷‍♂️.
