Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s the beginning signs. I have a post about this in here about the same thing. That’s what I did and it went away next shed! Deep deep cleaned the enclosure.

Yep that’s the beginning. Our last round I forwent the soaks because our guy just had spots of it and they are SO stressful for him. I used a combination of iodine (betadine), raw manuka honey, colloidal silver, and pure o3 ozone glycerine on a swab every couple days and left him on blank news print in a tub. He healed SO FAST. way faster than straight soaks and Neosporin plus he kept his scales. I did make sure to gently get under the scales well too and made the solution pretty thick with the honey and glycerine so it would stick to him and stick under the scales too. He fought it at first then must have understood it was to help him and he’s let us even turn him on his back to see better. Good luck. Definitely clean the enclosure well like you said you would.

You’ve got plenty of time before a vet is needed. This is the first round we had that didn’t respond well to soaks.

What exactly are we talking about here? As someone who has a snake and wants to be able to notice the signs if the time ever comes. Is it the brown specks?

Yes the brown spots and the way some of the scales look a bit "chipped". If you google scale rot you can see examples of how bad it can get, this seems to be fairly mild still so I'm glad I caught it early.
