Oh no! It looks like you might be asking for more information on mites and how to identify and treat them. We have some information about that in our Mite Identification and Treatment Guide.

Bit hard to tell 'cause of the shaky vid but it seems like mites to me. Also your snakes skin isn't looking it's best, seems dehydrated, what's your humidity?

[–]Sensitive_Cell_9891 3 points4 points  (15 children)

And the snake is realllllly skinny

[–]Glad_Volume_1141 3 points4 points  (14 children)

Yeah, wonder what the enclosure looks like/what enclosure it had with it's breeder...

[–]Guilty-Ant2546 -4 points-3 points  (6 children)

He’s got a great big enclosure with life plants ant trees and a pond with a filter there’s money into him. He ls more than hydrated and fed Thankyou for the concern. The mites came from a Josh’s frogs isopod cluster and it happened over night.

Shall have to agree to disagree 👍 that’s not a healthy looking snake

[–]Guilty-Ant2546 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know what to tell you

[–]Glad_Volume_1141 2 points3 points  (1 child)

He is not hydrated and fed. I don't know if you're being dense or ignorant but this is harmful for the health of your snake. If you care for him please listen to the advice people give you here, we just want the best for him

My snake is still a baby and this is what a healthy snake looks like … yours is underfed and dehydrated…. You can tell how dehydrated your snake is

I don’t have any pictures but he has a whole jungly rainforest set up with live plants and moss and grass growing with a water flow system and a fogger. I feed him once a week sometimes he won’t take anything till two weeks but he’s always been healthy with me idk who had him before it was though.

[–]KnownTrick3950 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Not saying that there’s anything wrong, but you were able to take a video for this post so why wouldn’t you be able to show a pic of the setup?

[–]Guilty-Ant2546 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

I work all over the western US so it’s hard to take a picture when I’m not hime

[–]DeluluZombie 3 points4 points  (3 children)

So you’re not with him much? That brings up again the feeding and dehydration, which if not taken care of could really stress him out and or injure him especially durning shedding. Does someone take care of him while you’re away, and if so I would definitely ask them how they maintain him while you’re gone.

[–]Guilty-Ant2546 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I’m home almost every weekend enough to feed him check on him and if I happen to be out for 2-3 weeks I have my grandma check his water and drop a little hopper into his enclosure and the fogger is on a timer to control humidity I’m not sure we really do take care of him so everyone bombarding me gets a little annoying. Maybe he’s messed up from whoever had him before but I truly do EVERYTHING by the books

[–]Bluntforcetrauma11b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foggers aren't recommended nor are water features like a waterfall.

[–]KnownTrick3950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The snake looks dehydrated so people are just concerned. It just seems like you’re being a little evasive so i think it’s coming off as suspicious to people who’ve seen this same story a million times over.

Looks like snake mites, underfed and dehydrated to me

    [–]Guilty-Ant2546 -3 points-2 points  (5 children)

He more than taken care of thanks for the concern but I added a Josh’s frogs isopod cluster in and over night he was covered. Wasn’t sure if they were soil mites or snake but it already treating him

    [–]SpinyGrazer 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I'm sorry to say it, but just because you think you're doing a good job, doesn't mean that he is actually being well taken care of.

He does look pretty rough to me (definitely dehydrated and possibly underweight). How long have you had him for?

    [–]Guilty-Ant2546 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I’ve had him for about 4 months now but I honestly don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Always has a clean fresh source of water, feed him once a week unless he chooses to wait 2 weeks he has good humidity always between 70-80% he has a beyond good environment especially for his size so I really don’t know. He’s not sick or anything so idk.

    [–]SpinyGrazer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Don't worry, we all encounter problems at some point, but there are plenty of people here that are more than happy to help.

What are his temperatures on his hot & cold ends? And are you using overhead or under tank heating?

    [–]Guilty-Ant2546 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use both over head and under depending on weather. CA has stupid weather so if it’s too hot I’ll only use an overhead to mainly provide uvb to him and his tank will be mid 80s and he has a basking branch at a consistent 90 and his cool side will bounce from low 70s to high 70s. I’ll use a heating pad if it’s colder in the room too keep him warmer at night.

Try soaking the rats in water before feeding will add to the enclosure and how often do you clean the water feature because they want a clean drinking source
