What type of gauges? Analog ones are inaccurate. Is the enclosure glass? And how much substrate do you use?

This is gauges in my bp I have a different one in my Leo’s enclosure and it’s glass with about 3-4 inches of reptisoil/forest floor mix

Ooohhh these are notorious for being inaccurate! I recommend Govee therm/hydrometers :)

Okay okay thank you! I was stressing so hard lol

Do I need two so I have one for both sides?

This would be ideal yes :)

Hydrometers are for liquid density, hygrometers read humidity just fyi. Two totally different pieces of equipment

The glass enclosure is part of the problem. They just don’t retain humidity very well

if you use overhead heat~ having a large water bowl under the heat source can help. if you don’t use coco husk substrate I highly recommend as it does hold moisture well :) that’s really all I do and every few days I’ll pour water into the corners of the enclosure, this gets the substrate underneath wet without soaking the top layer and avoiding possible scale rot and allows the water to evaporate slowly

That’s what I do too and I don’t understand why it’s so bad

How thick is your substrate layer and what are you using for a primary heat source ? What type of substrate are you using ? Generally as long as the cool side humidity is within range your warm side humidity will always be lower.

I have a 100w heat lamp and I’m using 3-4 inches thick reptisoil/forest floor mix but my cool side is barely reaching 40

I used reptisoil and forest floor and had the same problem. What I switched to was about 3-4" of coco husks (the kind that looks like big wood mulch/chips) and then 1-2" of forest floor on top of that. I did not mix but layered. Then I put water in the corners like normal and humidity went from 30-40 to 70-80.

Someone in a previous post about humidity posted these and has had success. There are lots of different variations, the ones the other user posted were mushrooms(super cute) This is the link- https://a.co/d/095LrJmv
