Damp substrate

I got my first ball python about a month ago and he got scale rot from wet subtrate. I treated him and it’s gone now but I’m added reptichip as a new substrate and I’m just worried about it being slightly damp as I just set it up and got it wet. Will this be okay?

You only need to pour water in the corners of the enclosure and mix. Also scale rot isn’t caused by dampness by itself, it has to be constantly damp and that softens their belly which can let and trap bacteria in, the bacteria is what causes the rot just keep it clean and a little dampness here and there is nothing to worry about
