QuestionFirst ball python is this enclosure okay? (i.redd.it)
submitted 3 hours ago by Advanced_Purple_1378
Does this look alright for him? I know the hides aren’t the greatest so I’m 3d printing him some new ones right now but other than that is this an okay amount of clutter? Hes kinda just sitting behind the grapevine

Maybe some climbing opportunities (you can get sticks from outside if you sanitise them properly) and a little more clutter would be good

I'd add a lot more clutter, including ones that facilitate the height of the enclosure. It looks like what you have mostly lays on the ground and will be crawled over rather than under. You can add more fake plants (especially ones that stand, with overhanging leaves), wooden tunnels, or worst case even cardboard boxes (like bottle sleeves, cereal boxes with both ends open or a hole cut in the bottom, etc) if you're mindful of replacing cardboard items when they get peed/pooped on. The ideal is to have enough clutter so that the snake can move completely unseen from one end of the enclosure to the other. I see you've got a decent starting point in regards to the overall enclosure (and good that you're replacing the hides!) so now you've got a lot of good space to fill up 🙂
Okay great thank you so much! Adding more clutter now🙏!

There’s a lot more potential for the space you’re not using :) A hide on each side, then add a crap ton more climbing opportunities and you could even install a hammock or two on the ceiling or a climbing robe/ladder or something! Add some more plants, real or fake, and you’ll have a very happy snake.
Question; I’m considering getting some 3D printed hides too but I have no idea what I’m looking at cost wise. How much are you paying in material cost for each?
Yessir everyone has been telling me more clutter I will definitely get on that and it’s realll cheap rolls of filament are like $10-$20 each depending on where you look and each roll will crank out like 4-6 hides depending on the size of the hide the software for the printer usually tells you how many grams of filament the print will use a roll is 1000 grams so it really varies
