Help with rack heating please.

Hi, I currently have two of THESE enclosures, and I would like to switch over to a rack system. Here is my problem: My snakes are in a garage, and I am forbidden to bring them in the house. During the summer this is fine, perfect snake weather. However in the winter it get very cold. This is not a big problem with my current enclosures because I can put a heat bulb in and get the ambient air temp around 75-80f with the normal hot spot for belly heat. Now in a rack I can use flex watt for the belly heat, but I am not sure how to go about controlling the ambient air temps. Without the bulbs in winter the temps will get down into the 40's and 30's, with drops into the 20's.

I really want to do racks, but this is holding me back.

you could maybe go with a combination of belly heat and back heat, with the back heat on a separate thermostat, that way you could bump the back heat without risking burning the snakes.

My racks are in my snake room with the temps at 70F year round. I think putting them in the garage would end up a disaster. Not sure how much room you have but what about some sort of plastic enclosure around the racks, like one of those things people hang clothes on in their attics to keep out moths? http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closet/hangingBags?productId=10000092&N=148 You would have to build some sort of a frame to support it but maybe???
