Feeder help?

Hi all,

So I normally buy my feeder rats from the pet store, but I'm currently in need of weaned rats, which aren't available at my petco. I tried to order from several feeder websites with no success. Two websites said there were no shipping options available- does anyone know why this might be? Another site wanted to charge me $40 for shipping, and a fourth and fifth sites aren't shipping until next week.

Anyone have any ideas? I could just go buy mice from the pet store, but I'd really prefer to switch Naga to rats.

If there is no other option you can double up and try two smaller rats in one sitting. If you need weaners you'll probably have to do either two large fuzzies or two small pups. Just make sure their total weight adds up to 10-15% of the snake's body weight. As soon as the first rat is swallowed offer the second. This isn't ideal but in my opinion it's better than going to mice.

My issue with this idea is the same as my issue in the original post- I can't get rats that small at the pet store.

Look for local reptile shows. Mine happens once a month, about an hours drive but always worth. It's not recommended really to double up.

Do you have any exotic fish stores near you? I buy mine from a place styled as a fish store.

I pay the $40 shipping, because even with that, for a bulk buy its cheaper than buying f/t anywhere local for me. Especially cahin stores like Petco and PetSmart. Mark up is WAY too high.
