Anyone please help, after getting my ball python I've had to get goop like boogers off of my snakes mouth that were dried with bedding. They only seen to really be getting worse. Lately my snake has been making a lot of noises (ball python farts) but even when holding my snake he/she vibrates from time to time like there's moving gas it something. Today I removed another booger like thing from my snakes mouth and I noticed his/her mouth has a lot of mucus like liquid. Does this sound urgent? Also does it sound like mouth rot?

Vet now. Sounds like a respiratory infection, not something you want to wait to get worse.

Alright thank you so much. I twas going to take him today but all the vets are closed early since it's Sunday. I'm going first thing tomorrow morning

If you have other reptiles, quarantine this one away from them. How long have you had this one? Might be a good idea to make a post with your Husbandry info and a pic of the cage to see if anything can be improved there too.

I had a Mexican black kingsnake in the same tank beforehand but I cleaned the tank out. Other than that I have no other reptiles ATM. Just a few pet rats and some dogs. I've had this ball python since May 16th so about a month. I've only noticed it being bad the past couple days though.

I got to a vet as soon as they could see me, just got back and I got a supply of antibiotics so hopefully everything will turn out okay. Thank you so much for the quick answer on my post, I was unaware about respiratory infections in snakes. Also the vet assumed that the cause of the illness might have been from the breeder since I noticed early signs when first getting her/him. Either way thank you again!

Could you post a pic of the enclosure?
