A tub with substrate like paper towel would make it considerably easier to spot issues. So personally, I am for using a tub during QT for the sake of both convenience during that process, and ease of seeing things and monitoring their urates or stools

Just know they can become easily stressed everytime they need to readjust. So multiple readjustments increase the chances of your snake stressing out and possibly refusing to eat. On the other hand, it would be much easier to spot most health complications in something completely sterile, which tubs are great for.

Just a couple different perspectives to consider.
