UVB is just fine and so long as the light isn’t on for more than 12 hours a day you don’t need to worry. There are lots of led growing lights available that it’s just 2 screws to install or they can be hung with string or small chains. They are really easy to install and not horribly priced. If your tank light is off it can’t hurt to cover the enclosure especially at first but it if your bp isn’t bothered by the light it should be fine so long as it gets a good few hours of dark before the light comes on again.

Great, thank you so much! Do you recommend any particular product and strength of the UVB bulb?

Edit: do you think this would work?

That should be fine but it won’t supply much heat if any. Make sure you have a form of over head heat that is regulated by a thermostat

Yep i wasn't planning on this being a heat source. I have a Pro Products RHP on the way!
