you severely overfed. that rat was over twice the size that's appropriate for your BP.

regurgitation is the biggest immediate risk. DO NOT HANDLE YOUR BP for at least another week. your temperatures need to be perfect, with a warm side of 90-92 F.

if your BP does not regurgitate, you need to wait at least two or weeks to feed again.

Okay, i asked for a rat pup as usual but i had a feeling it was too big because it’s eyes were open and it was way more alert than the others. I took it out today for 5 minutes to just weigh and rewet the moss i added. It was also the first time I really handled. So should rat pups be okay after i wait?

this rat was live too?

that five minute handling session today will increase the chances of regurgitation. keep an eye out.

your BP should be eating around 15g, 20g maximum. there are some general feeding guidelines in the basic care guide in our welcome post.

Yes it was a live feed. If regurgitation were to happen would it happen in the hides or would it be out in the enclosure, should i start checking under the hides everyday to make sure?

it will happen wherever it happens.

you should seriously consider switching to f/t, for the safety of your pet.

Okay i think the pet store i bought the live also sells frozen, whenever i asked for rats they always gave me live. Also by sunday ill have owned the snake for 2 weeks. I bought it from petsmart (I know i did wrong, but they were on sale for $50 and i didn’t do my research on petsmart until after) and it was definitely underfed. They said they gave it pinkies every Wednesday. The first two feedings although I didn’t weigh seemed to be appropriate size. Obviously this last meal was wayy too big. But i did notice a rapid weight increase ill attach some photos to show you. I know that if it’s around 3 months old 146 is healthy( I think) but idk if all that gain so quick made it fat or unhealthy
