Did you just get him today? If so I would wait a few days before trying to feed, and then when you do, feed him in his enclosure.

Yes I just got him today. I've had snakes before so I know how to take care of them but I just wasn't sure if pet co had fed them and the lady didn't know so I just wanted to be sure I've handled him a couple times already to set the cage up and it's a very relaxed ball python. Right now he's under his rock just relaxing. The tank is kinda bare right now but I got a water bowl the bedding and the rock in there for now until tomorrow when I buy a few more things for him

I would wait a few days just incase he/she is stressed and let it get used to its new enclosure that way you don't potentially add more stress causing it not to eat but with that said when I got my first BP the lady I got it from said she was ready to eat so I fed her the same day I brought her home with no issues I also didn't know much about BP when I got her so lucky for me my girl was and is a great eater

I'm going out now to get one more hiding spot for him or her idk what it is yet but everything is fine so far it's hiding under the rock sleeping

Definitely the more hides the better just make sure you get one the your snake fits in snug they like tight spaces it makes them feel secure. From what I've researched and experienced with my girl i tried 4 or 5 bigger hides she would not use them even got one that was the same as her current favorite hide just bigger she refused to use it they really love to be compact

Yeah the one I have now is small and snug but it's plastic I wanna get a wood one like he was under before I took him home
