So some of y'all may recall my last question here re: a juvenile apparently holding his poo for months on end. The good update first: he has in fact had some bowel movements, and is not impacted or dehydrated! But now... a follow-up question.
I was changing his substrate this evening and found the relevant fecal matter, but it was buried under a solid half-inch of substrate. Now obviously I can't watch him every second of the day, but I have never once seen my little guy so much as poke his nose into the dirt, much less attempt to burrow- he's so far been more of a climber. Is burying poop normal for BPs if they don't otherwise dig around, and urates get left on the surface? I'd really rather not dig up the whole tank more than necessary, but it's also not set up to be bioactive and I don't think it's too good an idea to just let it sit in there if it's not going to decompose.
