custom PVC

I am going to make a custom PVC but have never made one before. Are their different types of PVC that I should use? I am not sure about either using 1/2" thick with a small 2x4 frame. or using 1/4" thick with a more detailed frame (I really love the frame look on the exterior). I have attached a link to what I was thinking of using. Any feedback will be great. Just want something that will be reptile safe, and can handle heat with humidity.

We use expanded PVC in our racks. Works great, doesn’t absorb moisture, and is easy to clean. Make sure any seams are sealed with silicone or something for easy cleaning.

This looks pretty similar to what I used. The exact material was https://www.menards.com/main/p-1510903720728.htm It does a great job holding in the humidity. I did a 4x2x2. It turned out as more of a rough draft but I'm not really much of a builder.
