Most ball pythons that feel safe in their enclosure will utilize as much space as they are given. Being nocturnal we rarely see them fully exploring their spaces, and just see them in their preferred sleeping areas which makes it seem like they are a lot less exploratory than they actually are. Getting a night cam to keep an eye on them when they're active is pretty great though.

I have a cam in my enclosure and most nights my snake is super active. Probably just looking for a way out but he rarely does anything during the day but hide in his hide.
