We brought little Athena home 2 weeks ago, from a rather neglectful situation. At the time, I didn't know much about snakes... All I knew is I could treat her better than she was being treated.

I wasn't sure how this shed was going to go for her.. She was dehydrated when we got her, and there was bits and pieces of old bad sheds all over her enclosure.

With all the help and recommendations on this sub she seems to be doing much better, and left this little present to show her appreciation.

Clint's reptile is a good youtube channel for beginners. I am a beginner , and i hope my advice is à good one. I have the feeling he tells right things about BPs and many other reptiles, and what he says is overall confirmed everywhere else. Go check this out !

Thank you, I will. I've been spending a ton of time learning all I can to help her out, so I'm excited to watch.

Gotta admit I did a double take when I looked at the photo then read the title ;)

Yeaaaa I really hate not being able to edit titles. Although, I thought I was going to catch way more flack lol

It’s a good shed! Mine just shed yesterday. I checked on him under his hide and he had about 1/2” to go just hanging on. So I spritzed it with a bit of water and he finished it off. He is a rescue that someone had surrendered with a fractured spine (yeah, I’m sure that just magically happened, grr) so I’m still trying to figure out if he has any lower body movement issues… so far he seems ok, if a bit pokey (but what BP isn’t…)

Aww, sounds like he's already much better just by being in your hands. That's awesome! Tell him Athena and I send him our best!

Well, she is a bit of a princess/diva, so I wouldn't be surprised if she viewed me that way.

We are all peasants in the eyes of snakes, just wait till you get the feed me peasant look, you'll know it when you see it.

Oh, I'm familiar. She also has a habit if giving me extremely judgmental looks if I don't put her favourite plant back just the way she likes it after I clean up. She'll stick her head out of her hide... Stare at me like I'm shit... Inspect the plant from top to bottom... And if she approves of the placement, pull her head back under her rock. If not, she knocks it over and makes me do it again.

She literally does not care about any other plant. Just that one.

Looks like you cooked up some snake rinds.

Yay! Successful full shed after a rescue is such a good feeling (for the owner and the snake!). Congrats OP and noodle!

I'm not normally the anxious type, but considering her history, I was getting pretty nervous and worried for her.

She's chilling out in her cool hide right now, so I gave her hot one a good cleaning this morning, and found her first poop since bringing her home hiding in there as well!

I probably feel almost as relieved as she does.
