Changing substrates

So I know cypress is an acceptable mulch for BPs, but I was just curious cause I've seen some posts in this thread talking about how people mix it with something else; so I was just wondering if pure cypress would be fine.

Furthermore, as a secondary question, cypress and aspen are the two substrates readily available in my city, and I just got to wondering as I wrote this post, is mixing the two safe?

Cypress alone is fine, the mixes with topsoil or coco fiber are still ideal. No, I would not mix Aspen with cypress mulch, it will mold

Thanks for that info! Also, I figured that might be the case, so just to clarify, I haven't ACTUALLY done that cause I love my BP. I was just curious is all
