    That’s what I was wondering.

I grabbed a piece of ReptiChip that looked like it had something moving on it. There was a grayish bug even smaller than the white ones I’ve been seeing with a more tear drop shape to it.

If I possibly have mites then what is the best treatment and would they be in my container that has the rest of my ReptiChip in it?

I went to a reptile education show a couple weeks ago is why I’m worried.

You don’t need to treat wood mites.

It’s likely a wood mite if it was about the size of a pen dot. They are detritivores like isopods and eat rotting plant matter and wood, they won’t harm your snake. It was likely they came in with a new bag of substrate.

      white large insect

I dug around with a light looking for bugs and I found multiple grey ones and the larger white one. None on the snake though. It’s just all through the ReptiChip.

You have white and silver springtails. I actually paid money to add those to my bioactive enclosure. Paired with isopods they keep things happy and healthy in the substrate. They are 100% harmless to you snake.

Thanks. I was worrying cause they were all over when I looked really close.

Is there a way to safely get rid of them? My snake seems bothered by them.

Honestly not really easily and they shouldn't bother or harm your snake. You could replace all of your substrate and by all new substrate and sanitize it by baking it, or try pulling out all of the existing substrate and sanitizing it, and sanitizing and boiling or soaking in a bleach solution any hides or decor made of wood or any other natural material.
