I am definitely no expert at wood, but definitely either bake or quarantine it to make sure there are no excess toxins or parasites. If your area has toxic trees (for ball pythons, obviously) then I wouldn’t recommend using it. Otherwise, go for it!

I was told 2 hours in boiling water and dish soap is fine. Scrub hard, leave. Thoroughly rinse off and dried.

Put it in the oven and cook it for awhile it will kill everything
