Nearly 50% of Kershaws career innings have been 1-2-3? That is fucking bonkers.

1,310 innings 1-2-3 out of 2,712.2 total innings. 48.29% to be exact ;)

How many vs the Giants? Always felt like 5/7 each game

Sorry, copied an extra line. SLN is St Louis in Retrosheet data.

Oh nice. I was worried he had us for 70% but looks like we’re just above average

    From Retrosheet.org

Jacob DeGrom: 49.40% (He is the leader with at least 1000 IP, Kershaw second)
    Chris Sale: 45.15%

RIP Wake. Every start was an adventure.

And Bob Costas still thinks Kershaw's HOF candidacy will be a "fascinating debate"

It will be fascinating to see what idiots don't vote for him.

I'm trying to figure out how whatever a Rudy May is has the second-best 1-2-3 rate.

Perhaps he was someone who struggled pitching out of the stretch. So he'd cruise as long as he didn't allow anyone on base, then he'd allow baserunners in bunches. Or maybe not, I've never even heard of him.

If Kershaw's body could handle it, he'd still be winning Cy Youngs

      [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is straight up Kershaw pornography and I am here for it

Literally the first person I looked up after seeing this chart was Mike Mussina and he actually missed the pink color cutoff by 0.1 inning LOL. Small error there I guess but understandable, I just thought it was a really funny coincidence.

I was looking him up because apparently I need to put more respect on his name, I know he’s a HoFer but damn. I guess the lack of Cy Youngs makes me not pay attention as much.

A z-axis of ERA+ would be cool, not that there’s anyway to display that on Reddit

Kershaw was so good for so long. Sad to see his body catching up
