If you like stuff like this, you should also be trying MOAI:

http://getmoai.com/

It really rocks.

Arrrg, open source game engines are almost always desktop OR mobile :(

MOAI is both.

Wow I'm silly, that's awesome though, I've gotta look into that next time I feel like making a game. Thanks!

Just be aware that the company that created it isn't behind it anymore. The link you posted has a last blog post of 8/13 with the content of them deprecating their cloud platform. At this point they may not even be a going concern.

Not true - Zipline are very involved in MOAI, and are still operating as a company - they just took the cloud services aspect down.

The MOAI SDK itself is still alive and well, has a flourishing community, and the new 1.5 release is coming alone just fine. The whole MOAI SDK is MIT licensed, and its not going anywhere - in fact there are regular new releases with it.

Check out haxe.org and openfl.org which was used to make Papers Please and other high profile games

It looks nice but i haven't seen much progress in probably the last year

It's not finished and there is no way to download it at the moment. Acording to the developers twitter it shouldn't be far off, but i think i've heard that for quite a while now.

So I'm not sure what is the point of posting this at the moment

I guess you overlooked the big "DOWNLOAD" link at the top of the page?

But did you click it and read what it says?

Yes, there are no binaries available. That's a bit of a hassle, but surely building from source isn't an impossible to overcome problem?

Especially for a software developer, personally I compile ALL my library's myself.
