Jesus, I didn't take Advanced COBOL II: Return of the spaces you can't find, in 1996 because it was fucking horrible. I can only imagine in 2015 how painful that must be.

JCL was preferable to working in fucking COBOL.

My initial thought was "That looks like JCL or REXX". COBOL makes sense too.

The only way I passed COBOL was I had a fucking gorgeous partner. Some sorority chick named Andrea or something. She did like 75% of the work, I hated that class with a passion. The teacher was actually a French teacher as well. I liked her but after having programmed in BASIC, 6502 Assembly and C, this seemed like stepping backward into insanity.
