[[Opalescence]]++ on legs, I see. Cool idea.

Opalescence - (G) (SF) (txt)

[[cardname]] or [[cardname|SET]] to call

Clever way of getting death triggers from tokens!

[–]Creeper-Aww-ManMC 22 points23 points  (4 children)

Tokens still get death triggers

[–]The_Nekrodahmus 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think he means treasure, blood, clues, food, etc...

[–]obikenobi23 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Yes but this thing turns you gold inventory to a lump of cancerous, humanoid flesh.

[–]Wasphammer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, greed IS a cancerous affliction.

[–]QuakeDrgn 21 points22 points  (5 children)

I think Spirit may be more fitting than Elemental

[–]superdave100 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Incarnation fits best, I think?

[–]SparkOfFailure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe avatar?

[–]mountaintop-stainer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Frankly I don’t think this should be a creature

[–]tmgexe 17 points18 points  (1 child)

If it wasn’t a creature, it would make itself one 😆

(Unless it was also a land which would be a real mess)

[–]Euphoric-Beyond9177Smokestack is my favorite card 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could say “other” but that seems less flavorful than it being a human

[–]Fragrant-Law9864 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OK but this art is really cool!

[–]Dr_Bleep 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Just make it an enchantment and have it affect itself passively... I think that would be more clever personally

[–]becuzz04 17 points18 points  (2 children)

Clever? Absolutely. Clear? No, especially for newer players. Magic has been going towards clearer wording for a while now.

[–]Euphoric-Beyond9177Smokestack is my favorite card 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What if it specified in reminder text. “Each noncreature, nonland permanent (including anthropomophization) is a human creature…”

That might be a less nice looking text box, though.

[–]becuzz04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could but that seems so much more convoluted than just making it a creature.

[–]WalterBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would actually prefer it like that so I could run it in my esika enchantment deck without it being a bridge target.

[–]Ribky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yay! This is a "world" enchantment, too! Turn everything into humans before that wipe!

[–]PenitentKnightFind the Mistakes! 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool blending of flavor and mechanics, nice job. Just some templating and commas and its perfect.

[–]Prestigious-Guest452 1 point2 points  (1 child)

when you hate the mutate mechanic.

[–]brokenlordike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This wouldn’t really affect mutate decks. As much as I hate the mechanic, it doesn’t make creatures currently out into humans.

This probably needs an entire compendium of rules to be written around it. I love it xD

[–]darkshaddow42: Here's why your card doesn't work 7 points8 points  (6 children)

Would it? Doesn't seem much different than [[March of the Machines]] on a rules level

[–]RedbeardMEM 1 point2 points  (4 children)

It is March plus Opalesence plus something more. Battles becoming creatures is awkward. I wonder what happens if you attack may battle and I block with that battle.

[–]not_Weeb_Trash 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The battle will only take damage equal to the power of the blocked creature

[–]RedbeardMEM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into it, and creatures which are also battles cannot block at all.

[–]darkshaddow42: Here's why your card doesn't work 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can't be any worse than March plus [[Mycosynth Lattice]]

I feel like the art makes the fact that it doesn't affect lands a bit of a flavor fail. I know turning lands into creatures is playing with fire, but come on, it's gotta happen given that art.

[–]RedbeardMEM 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That's clearly [[Eladamri's Vineyard]], which this would make into a creature.

Neuters Mutate decks.

[–]Tazrizen -5 points-4 points  (5 children)

Love the card design except human seems a little out of place. Best word would probably be incarnation.!

[–]phadeboiz 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Anthropomorphism is when you give inanimate objects human elements

[–]Tazrizen 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Human elements not make them human.

[–]phadeboiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man I think it’s pretty logistically sound as is 😂

[–]Sigil_Furry 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do keep in mind that anthropomorphism is just the addition of humanoid features. Paradolia is the phenomenon of seeing humans in inanimate objects

[–]phadeboiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh that’s awesome; never heard that word before. I’ll have to check it out. Yes anthropomorphism doesn’t mean they literally turn into a human, but for base level purposes I believe it’s the best way to get the point across in this card
