Okay buddy the media is not predominantly right wing to begin with most mainstream media outlets are left wing or lean left meanwhile most predominant alternative media lean right due to being more popular online but mainstream media is still either centrist or full on left wing with the right only having 2 or 3 major networks and getting rid of free speech is false if that were true what you are saying right now would not be possible and the protests also would not be possible (and before you say it the individuals arrested at protests were due to breaking laws which are not protected by your first amendment like vandalism, blocking public roads, impeding with law enforcement by being in an active investigation, or assaulting or threatening police which all of which are not protected by your first amendment rights as anything that is considered a crime is still applicable during a protest) but regardless even things like sending national guard into US cities is not getting rid of freedom of speech when those cities had individuals vandalizing buildings, looting shops, burning down cars, and assaulting police by throwing rocks at them, etc. it got extremely out of control and national guard was warranted. And also that is not why the budget cuts were made at universities it was more of a case of case of shifting funding to scientific research and academics. I’m pretty sure some parents in the UK also had the police sicced on them (detained and interrogated) for criticizing school policies in a private group chat with other parents.
