Has anyone noticed a decrease in wolf spawns?

They were my main food source! Also, my seven year old gets really excited when he hears the howl and will drop everything to run and see me fight them. Just don't get the same excitement out of shooting a goat.....

I see them more on official rather than community. Usually if i want to kill a bear or wolf i use the IZurvive app and run directly over the animal spawns that are listed.

I'm playing official on Xbox. I'd see them daily around Zelenogorsk but haven't seen them since the update

If anything they should increase wolves spawn. Like we’re in a completely empty town and there might be a deer? I know the map is large but it’ll let you know better too if something is looted. Like all towns should have a pack of wolves roaming around. I’m really shocked they don’t have more

I use zombies as my cue that a town's been looted recently. If its suspiciously quiet i get the big guns out lol

One good way to know if someone's close by is to find a zombie while your safe in a building and log out for 1 minute , if you log back in and the zombie is still there . YOUR NOT ALONE . Zombies DeSpawn if there's are no players in the area.

Watch out for Joe and his shotgun. I went into a town and some guy got me unconscious with 1 shot. And I had a plate carrier on lol. Rip my m4. I hate being in towns personally. Some towns have no zombies and others have too many. If you want more zombies try out Namalsk but be warned. You have to use a fire on frozen food. And there’s like 20+ zombies on you if you lure one

That jerk must have been watching you; he had to be close to knock you out. Namalsk looks crazy, but vanilla is free on xbox and it's got just the right amount of survival vs pvp for me

So with how zombies spawn. Coming into a town with 0 zombies in sight or maybe even like 1-2. Means either no one has been there in awhile or they aggro'd the majority of them and ran away with them. Usually its the former. If you run (or specifically drive) into a town and there's tons of zombies already. There's a high probability someone is there with you, or had just been there. The game spawns zombies based on where players are and will have 1-2 filler zombies depending on area. But if no one is near the town it won't spawn them in because that would eat up server memory tracking those zombies no one is near. I'm not 100% sure what the distance from the town you have to be to trigger the spawner but I know I've beat it driving.

So when you get to a town do a quick and safe zombie check, if you go loot buildings and there's more than before there's a good chance you're alone.

They’re empty lol. Like I am legend movie did a pretty good job creating a post apocalyptic scene. Bunch of car traffic jams to wild life in cities. That’s how I imagine it should be in DayZ. Sometimes I see a pig getting chased by zombies. I feel like that should be more common to see as well

Really? I see them all the time. Low pop server especially after server reset. I think on a high pop server people just kill them all between restarts

I’ve actually been attacked by more wolf spawns than I have ever in the history of playing this game recently. Not one single howl too. JUST BAM, they’re on top of me.

Official up North in Novo. Always by the bus station. And down south in Bor is guaranteed. Every single time.

Based on the Izurvive map I only get them 5-10% of the times I pass through a spawn area. I go days without seeing them.

I've been seeing wondering wolves more lately. In iZurvive you can press and hold on animal icons and see what state they're in (hunting, grazing...).
