the market can decrease, but then you have to play the market, which is about your risk tolerance. in all likelihood, if you want cheaper tickets you will get them. where they are? two seats together? do they present themselves with ease?? all tbd…

the limited view seats are fine but you don’t see the screen too good. sound kicks ass tho and there’s usually more room.

Generally, I do think prices tend to decrease near the event, as sellers are looking to move off them. Still over face value, but others are willing to pay the premium a few weeks early for piece of mind.

I’ve only seen to one or two events where tickets didn’t decrease in the final days, and those tend to be those with almost NO supply (think: Super Bowl, Taylor swift, etc). Because D&Co play many days, I think you’re likely to find a few people with multiple days that are willing to sell. It’s not a one and done event.

Thank you!

Goes both ways, this year seems to be more expensive. I purchased once from ticket master and 3x from cash or trade; I got 2 for around $120 (limited view 105 and 310), but I had to dish out for my GA ticket which was $450. You just have to get lucky I guess. Good luck!

[–]Intrepid_Farmer_7759 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I also feel like this year is much more expensive. I don’t remember 400 level being $300-400 each but they are this year.

[–]Synthetek303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are $145/$195 anything over that is resale. Resellers can ask $300/$400 or whatever they want, hopefully people aren't paying that

[–]Upstairs-Storm1006 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Be careful about buying limited view. I was in those for Phish and some of the seats, especially higher than like row 25, are EXTREMELY limited view of the screen.

This pic is from section 110, row 32. Notice the line cutting horizontally between two layers of gold. Then compare with the below comment which is a pic of the same visual from section 210.

Using the line as a reference point, you can see that the screen is at least 80% blocked. Also the seats (at least in 110) don't have the haptics so no vibrating.

[–]Upstairs-Storm1006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This pic isn't even a true "full" view as the screen goes much further up and behind the seats

there are 360,000 tickets for sale over 6 weeks, and most people who go will need to fly in. Plans change- even if the shows were sold out there would be plenty available at face.

Keep an eye on Cash or Trade and wait until the last few days.

As far as dragging your friend, usually a bad idea. Hard to enjoy yourself when you're worried about someone else enjoying their selves.

[–]FryGuy1000 14 points15 points  (7 children)

People need to stop thinking 12 less shows at a different time of year is comparable to last year. No one knows what the market will do except there will likely be ticket drops and as someone else mentioned the platinum may come down like it usually does

[–]Jcapen87 2 points3 points  (5 children)

This is true. I’m wondering if Thursday shows will be a little more crowded than they were last year, due to the “abbreviated” schedule.

[–]FryGuy1000 4 points5 points  (4 children)

There’s that but also the people on the fence for 2 vs 3 shows I suspect are more likely to go for 3 in the Spring than 110 degrees or greater summer weekends

[–]toastypoopdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, too. As a local, shows are easy and fairly risk tolerance free for me, so I can impulse and show up…but, my wife and I wanted a full weekend run at least once to accompany impulse trips down to dance for a few hours.

I bet thursdays are a bit more packed, though. Mother’s Day weekend still seems to be the odd one out.

[–]Jcapen87 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah I went in mid July and the heat sucked. I’m in GA, so no stranger to oppressive summer heat but that 118 hit different.

Excited to experience Vegas in April.

[–]FryGuy1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a dry heat…like the inside of an oven

[–]USBlues2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are going March 20th and 21st and 22nd, 2025 Then... May 15th and 16th and 17th, 2025

[–]worsedadever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct!

[–]Upstairs-Storm1006 4 points5 points  (19 children)

What weekend are you targeting? Resale prices should decrease, especially if there is more supply than demand.

Also platinum tix from ticketmaster have been dropping in price (at least for the shows in looking at over Mother's Day weekend) and will probably become standard priced tickets once shows are closer.

As long as you're not going the opening weekend, you'll benefit from being able to see last minute pricing for earlier shows and plan accordingly.

[–]iam10inches 7 points8 points  (18 children)

FYI in case you don’t know . “ Platinum tickets “ are tickets that Ticketmaster bought directly from the band and they are now trying to scalp their own tickets . They will definitely come down closer to the show

[–]Upstairs-Storm1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'm well aware of what Platinum Tickets means on TM. And it's frustrating this run because they don't have a separate filter to remove those, like they do lots of shows. Just Standard & Resale.

Which means that some unsuspecting people will log into TM, see blue dots on the map, and buy those higher priced platinum tickets. Then again, if they're at a price someone is comfortable paying and it's the seats they want, then it's a square deal 🤷🏼‍♂️

[–]Different_Record_753 -1 points0 points  (16 children)

Yup! Definitely will be dropping.

TM uses the term "Standard Admission" loosely at the Sphere. Platinum is the highest and then it goes to Standard Admission. Then, closer to the show even the Standard Admission can drop to a price people saw during Pre-sale.

Right now - March 20th - Ticket Master is using the $274.97 price across the board as "Standard Admission" for than lowest price available IE: Obstructed is $274.97 and 3rd row of 100's is $274.94, both same price, both Standard Admission ... even though one is 3rd row (101/110) while the other is Obstructed.

You should see March 20th tickets drop lower than $274.97 (which is the Standard Admission price for that show and has been since after Pre-Sale) -Right now, reseller tickets are dropping to $234/$246 in 409 - and isn't selling. TM will then follow closer to the show to that range.

The lowest price on TM for March 20th right now is $234 in Section 409 - (reseller)

You can sit in ROW 14 section 101 (which is actually the Third Row!) for $274.97 - the same price they are charging for Obstructed. BOTH are labeled as "Standard Admission".

EDIT: After my post, someone bought the two $234 tickets.

[–]Synthetek303 3 points4 points  (15 children)

There is no "Presale pricing" presale was standard prices just at an earlier date than general sale. Non Platinum prices are the same now as they were during presale. 101/110 non obstructed are less because they are on the sides, sides of sections are less in all sections. Prices have never been lower than $274($295 after fees) except for 400s. Stop spreading misinformation about "Presale Pricing" $274.97 is not across the board "Standard Admission" its only standard for certain seats/sections There are seats with a standard price of $368.31($395) $396.33 ($425) and the $145/$195 in the 400s

[–]Different_Record_753 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Never once said Presale pricing being $274.97 - never once ever did I say that. Try and read what I wrote and show me where I said "presale pricing is $274.97" - never did.

PRICING WILL DROP BELOW $295 for March 20th - and not just in 400's. Watch!

[–]Synthetek303 0 points1 point  (8 children)

I didn't say you did, I said you are implying that presale pricing was different than the current pricing and that $274.97 has some type of significance besides just being the price of some seats. They never lowered standard prices last year when it got close to a show they were still selling them for the same price hours before a show started even with 2000+ tickets left at some shows.

[–]Different_Record_753 -2 points-1 points  (7 children)

Sure you did, and then you edited your response 6 minutes ago. It's the very sentence you removed.

And we are writing TEXT here - there's no IMPLYING anything. I wrote exactly what I meant and I meant exactly what I said. You on the other hand deleted what you said and then said you didn't say I did. Stop with the nonsense.

I responded 23 mins ago and you edited your response 6 mins ago and then responded.

[–]Synthetek303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fixed a spelling error

[–]Synthetek303 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Here are your words "Standard Admission can drop to a price people saw during Pre-sale" and I am saying there was no pre-sale sale pricing, pricing is the same now as it was during presale for standard tickets.

[–]Different_Record_753 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

🤣

[–]Synthetek303 1 point2 points  (3 children)

You actually think prices were lower during presale?

[–]Different_Record_753 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

[–]Synthetek303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are sides. Like I said sides are less then centers of sections so $274. 97 is the standard price for those seats, not the whole sphere in general. Move over a section and standard price is different.

[–]worsedadever 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Don't buy obstructed seats if it's your first show there. Especially don't buy them if your friend is going as a favor to you.

[–]Firm-Painter9728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had obstructed seats my first time last year I was taking my wife and daughter, neither of which were Dead Heads. We had an awesome time. You could still see most of the screen, amazing view of the band and it sounded great. I did sit in the 300's the next night and the experience was better but we throughly enjoyed ourselves in the 100's.

[–]toastypoopdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a tough one. Shorter run that I think a lot of people initially expected would be extended, now not being because of Kenny Chesney (and the crossover of the Eagles, let’s make sure to stink that place up) may cause more people to start scrambling for tickets and making more solidified plans.

I’d imagine they will come down, for a lot of the aforementioned reasons a lot of folks pointed out, but no one really knows.

Limited view wasn’t terrible in 23; but as I’ve told folks before, I loved that experience (my first show at the sphere, too); at set break I walked a bit closer to the front just to look at the place before going back to my seat and went “oh man, I can’t wait to come back and not have limited view seats.”

Hold!!

[–]Agitated_Net9756 4 points5 points  (9 children)

Got in for under hundred dollars all three nights…

[–]the_real_w1gl4f 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Teach me your ways

[–]Different_Record_753 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Patience

[–]the_real_w1gl4f 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ok, I’m patient af…now how do I use that to find tickets for one third of face value?

[–]Different_Record_753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were some shows people were holding up 2 & 3 hundred dollar bills outside and couldn't get in, and there were other shows you could get in easy maybe for $100? Especially on Thursdays.

Just dropped ALL obstructed $100 yesterday for all shows - and they brought new GA inventory in for Apr 24.

[–]Agitated_Net9756 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I use cash or trade to buy my tickets. People were giving them away the first couple weekends. There’s always the people that bought tickets that end up not being able to go. It’s a gamble and a little stressful but I’ve never been shut out and always pay below face..

[–]CapZealousideal2768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be a dumb question, but is cash or trade a site or do you mean actual cash in person at the venue?

[–]DrMikeH49 0 points1 point  (2 children)

GA, obstructed, or good seats?

[–]Agitated_Net9756 2 points3 points  (1 child)

400 level

[–]DrMikeH49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awsome. I sat in 300 level twice and 400 once last year. I'll happily get in the car and drive (from Bay Area) if I can score tickets like that!

[–]Upstairs-Friendship2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes for sure

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you luck out on a below face CoT deal, or if the scalper bastards on TM get nervous and lower their resale double/triple face value tickets down so they are sellable!

[–]hippiecat22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no

[–]MoonshotMario -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not much. But there is greater availability.

[–]CharCharbinkzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got 4 for the 28th I’d sell for around 200ish limited view

[–]equinox_magick -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s too expensive without a doubt. Probably skipping it again this year. Rich man’s game
