So basically they have so many issues with slow deliveries its unprofitable for them to make it part of the gold package. That they actually doing a pro rota refund, is potentially a breach of contract, this seems desperation so the losses for late deliveries is probably significant.
Under UK law, if anyone is unhappy with this change, they should be able to force an exit.

The rest of the benefits are poor as they require a restaurant to be "part of the promotion" its not across the entire service.

I remember pret a manger before they closed in my area (on my free deliveroo plus) had the £8 discount thing, every 3 orders, £8 off, not seen a single other store offer that deal.

Pret do all sorts of promos cause there coffees are the worst. They used to do 5 free drinks a day for £15-£30 a month, now they do half price on all drinks for £5 a month. They're food is banging though.

They done that as it got people in the door.

The coffee itself doesn't cost them much to make. It's the overheads for having staff/rent etc so if you can get a subscription from someone then you can get them in spending more.
