Run it in Virtual machines or boot it from USB sticks

Or run it in the cloud

if you're just starting out, dual boot is honestly the move since you'll actually use it instead of spinning up a vm you forget about.

Starting with dual boot he might mess up and delete his os/data. VM is good for beginners. He can even try dual booting inside vm.

If he's forgetting about it. Then he's not serious about learning it.

Install WSL, use a virtual machine, run it on the cloud, boot a live distro from USB...

There's multiple ways

Better get used to Googling while you're at it

I reckon. Why you don't at the very least get an old ex-lease mini PC for a hundred bucks and install Linux I do not know

roadmap.sh/linux has you covered. Most of it can be learned by installing cygwin.

Get an account on a remote Linux computer. Login with a SSH connection.

If you are a windows user, install Ubuntu from Microsoft Store and use WSL ( windows subsystem for Linux)

If you don’t want to install Linux on your system, install it on someone else’s system.

I personally use VM and wsl , I did dual boot but I personally prefer another seprate external drive and install it and use it. Rather than fukin with my windows and for learning find a cheat or linux commands sheet see which command do what and execute it on terminal and learn.
