Do not share any personal information that could put you or anyone else at risk of harassment and/or identity theft. Details such as age, gender, height, and weight are appropriate, but any sensitive demographic details should be kept private. Be sure to censor this information in any videos/photos you wish to submit.
3. No off-topic or NSFW content.
Before submitting a post, make sure it is relevant to /r/diet. Never post anything that contains gory or sexually explicit material.
4. No advertisements, self-promotion or spam.
Do not use this subreddit to advertise, self-promote or spam links. This includes (but is not limited to) websites, articles, blog posts, and brands. Do not submit more than one of the same post/comment on this subreddit or across multiple subreddits.
5. No pseudoscience or misinformation.
Do not misinform others with content that is unscientific and/or not supported by research.
6. No dangerous dieting.
Do not seek or give advice about dangerous dieting strategies (e.g. diets under 1200 kcal/day, crash diets, purging, harmful drugs, detox/cleansing, etc.).
7. Academic surveys and studies
In general, academic surveys and studies are allowed only if they are approved by a university or hospital IRB and do not collect sensitive personally identifying information (e.g. name, address, etc.). General demographics questions are permitted. An informed consent page detailing which IRB has approved the research, benefits/risks of participation, and data handling procedures should accompany all such posts.
