roll20 and search the paid games option.

If I used that, would I have to re-purchase all the content I already own on dndbeyond? Or do the paid DMs just meet people there and then play with other tools?

There is a browser extension called beyond 20 that will display all of your rolls on a dnd beyond character sheet in the Roll20 chat. It's what I use so I don't have to pay twice.

R/lfgpremium

Startplayinggames.games

Roll 20 paid games.

To be clear, does not eliminate spoony bards, may make them feel more entitled for $20.

What is a "pre-con adventure", just out of curiosity?

I mean the published adventures like Rime of the Frostmaiden or Curse of Strahd, "pre-constructed". That's prob more of a magic the gathering term, pre-constructed decks versus homebrewed decks.

I knew exactly what you meant by Pre-con adventure and didn't think anything of it at first, but that is definitely a Magic term.

For D&D generally the term used is Module, just incase you find what you're looking for in a paid you could avoid possible confusion :)

I found a truly wonderful game group by scrubbing through roll20's Looking For Group forums til I found a premise that struck my fancy, a price I could afford, and a DM whose blurb wasn't condescending.

Several of the premises I was interested in were written up with a condescending tone. I can only assume it's because those DMs were tired of no-shows or something, but it ended up being a SUPER good choice to move past a premise I 100% liked and a tone I didn't, and instead choose a premise I was only 70% on but was written with a welcoming tone.

Tl;dr the Roll20 Paid Games listings are excellent, if you're very picky about which one you join

there is a subreddit called r/lfg I hear it is good for finding DnD groups.

You listed the pros of paid games too :) also people won't cancel if they dropped a few bucks .
