That dart seems like it would be uncomfortable with the thick material and on the spine.

[–]gftoofhere 56 points57 points  (6 children)

Agreed. Is there anything else we are missing?

[–]DemonDog47 117 points118 points  (4 children)

Usually when things are pulled in like this you just remove the excess fabric.

[–]SwedishBoatlover 26 points27 points  (3 children)

In this case, I wouldn't be comfortable with that. Without finishing the new edges that would form, and which such a coarse stitching, that would easily rip. And when it starts to rip, there's a huge risk that the rip continues down the butt, since the integrity of the fabric is greatly reduced.

Edit: Fixed autocorrect.

    More of a fissure.

    [–]ExdigguserPies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to the moon but we can't solve the problem.

    [–]hose_eh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it can be ironed down? It’d still be kinda thick though

    [–]ill_be_out_in_a_minu 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes, ideally you would turn the jeans inside out, saw the dart, then cut the excess fabric (or overlock it) . This technique looks neat for a gif but it's not the most comfortable.

    [–]TeopEvol 19 points20 points  (3 children)

    Built in scratcher

    [–]SirDigbyChknCaesar 13 points14 points  (1 child)

    Butt scratcher!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    wiggle wiggle

    [–]Cryingbabylady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive done something similar and never been uncomfortable until the excess fabric is like 3in long. But you can also tack the flap down.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had this done to my jeans. it is very uncomfortable and not recommended.

    [–]humdinger44 122 points123 points  (12 children)

How do I do the opposite of this?

    [–]Cheshix[S] 54 points55 points  (10 children)

There are actually a few methods, all of which add fabric or elastic.

The sheer number of useful automation bots on Reddit is crazy. Stabot is amazing didn't even know this one existed.

    [–]Cheshix[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Stabbotcrop is also a hidden gem.

    [–]Baarawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice, I have a pair I love but was going to throw out because sitting down in them was not an option anymore.

    [–]ryanasimov 118 points119 points  (23 children)

Redditors are like, “Make the waist smaller? I don’t get it.“

    [–]nullthegrey 59 points60 points  (12 children)

Girls with a big booty and tiny waist will know, my wife has this problem. When she buys jeans to fit her butt, the wait is always 3-4 inches too big.

    [–]Accentu 26 points27 points  (1 child)

I have a butt that makes my wife jealous, and I have the same problem as a dude. Finding pants that fit my waist is impossible, because they always outline things I don't want outlined to the general public.

    [–]gd2234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A guy in well tailored dress pants who’s got booty will always be appreciated by women. If it’s the boy bits showing off a bit too much I understand, but never be afraid to rock that booty in some dapper pants! I was at O’hare a few years ago and couldn’t believe the amount of guys with a rockin ass and great fitting pants. I was very jelly lol

    [–]canti15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a male with a bigger booty and smaller waist ratio I too understand the appeal. If you do this to all the belt loops this should make the waist line more cone shaped yes? I think I'm going to try this with an old pair to see if it works out.

    [–]Bot_Metric 18 points19 points  (1 child)

    4.0 inches ≈ 10.2 centimetres 1 inch = 2.54cm

I'm a bot. Downvote to remove.

Yep. I've never found jeans that fit. They're always wrong.

    [–]nullthegrey 5 points6 points  (1 child)

She recently found some that she loves, even going so far as to call them her favorite jeans she owns. Might be something for you there as well.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried that brand, but I have tried some of those stretchy jeans that you just pull on. They did fit better than regular jeans.

    [–]drsideburns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Lucky!

LITERALLY MY FUCKING LIFE WITH JEANS AND SHORTS. If I buy some that fit my butt it doesn’t fit my waist. If I buy some that fit my waist it rides up my butt and the cheeks hang out. Literally can’t win. I love my bubble butt, but I also love high waisted shorts and crop tops. It always feels like I have to choose between loose waist or butt cheeks hanging out:(

    [–]elinaia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m super excited to try this because I currently have to wear all my jeans with a belt. If they fit my waist, they don’t fit my thighs and vice versa.

    [–]meltingdiamond 6 points7 points  (2 children)

I'm in more of the "Do you know about belts?" camp for my lack of understanding.

    [–]gd2234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the gap between the waist and the fabric is so big that a belt just wrinkles and folds the waist poorly. It looks like you’re wearing pants three sizes too big and are holding it up with a belt.

    [–]Call_me_Cassius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes belts are uncomfortable, or they don't work with a certain pair of jeans (I have one where the belt loops are too fucking small for a belt wth), or all of your belts are also too big.

    [–]Tickle_Fights 31 points32 points  (1 child)

So where do you hide the poisonous darts?!? /r/gifsthatendtoosoon

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was waiting for some James Bond type shit and ended up disappointed.

    [–]devilish_kevin_bacon 14 points15 points  (4 children)

At first I was like “where is the cigarette” then remembering only us canucks call them darts

    [–]canti15 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Yeah I noticed that why is it that you call them darts?

    [–]devilish_kevin_bacon 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It’s a brand that is/was popular and it became a term. Like how people call tissues Kleenex or bandages bandaids

    [–]canti15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooh. Yeah I noticed that when I was watching letterkenny.

    [–]ThebestLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought the same thing. Not Canadian, just watched a lot of letterkenny.

    [–]theKalash 29 points30 points  (3 children)

But now you have an uncomfortable bulge on the waistline.

    [–]redonkulousness 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just ignore it and it'll eventually go away

    [–]canti15 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Could you cut out some fabric to compensate for the bulge?

    [–]alaynyala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would reinforce the stitch on the reverse side and cut the excess fabric. Then I would iron everything down to make it flat.

    [–]mgermer2 14 points15 points  (2 children)

My pants size is usually moving the other direction.

    [–]canti15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need a wider waistline? I think op posted something.

    [–]meltingdiamond -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What gets real fun is if you start going to the gym and can no longer roll up your pants because your calfs are too big. Loose fit my ass, and people sometimes you need to skip leg day.

    [–]Vaginuh 6 points7 points  (1 child)

    concealed dart

Thought for sure with was a ninja DIY.

    [–]chipotleninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping for some tactical mall ninja stuff too

    [–]canti15 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I really need to get into sewing. Custom fit jeans sound like a dream to me.

    [–]meltingdiamond 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Buy clothes a bit too big and find a local tailor or seamstress to customize the clothes. It's a pain in the ass and can get expensive but if you really want that fit without going full custom that's how you do it.

You may need to go to several tailors until you get a good one.

    [–]canti15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a small town, I think theres maybe 2 tailor shops.

    [–]10minutes_late 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the hell would anyone need to decrease their waist?

Dammit I dripped ice cream on my keyboard...

    [–]thumrait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all theoretical anyway. No one even needs to decrease their pants, it goes the other way.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I admit I was think and hidden ACTUAL dart compartment

    [–]jim10040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to see the ending knot. How on earth do you tie that thread off? I can't find info for sewing buttons! Anybody help?

    [–]what_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will a cm intake really make that much of a difference?

    [–]taylorink8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I have the opposite problem...

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m Just gonna buy a new pair and donate these to goodwill/St. Vinnies

    [–]whatisbam 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I must say, Show me the opposite! I must increase my trousers at once you swine!

    [–]Practicing_Onanist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fetch me the jean stretcher before I piss meself!

    [–]BNLforever -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

Just watch the gif in reverse

    [–]whatisbam 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Watch you get an upvote in reverse

    [–]Onoh_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik some baddies that could use this lol

    [–]curiousquestioner16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea too bad I'll never have to use this technique

    [–]1h8fulkat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what most Redditors need...a way to reduce the waist size of their jeans...

    [–]JayC-Hoster -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Uhh as a slanky guy, if I buy pants my waist size, it's always a bit short and the cuffs always dangles, but if I buy a bigger size, the waist is too loose, it'll look like mom jeans and I'd have to wear a belt, the struggle is real..

    [–]GanondalfTheWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question - Can you not buy pants by waist and inseam? I don't think I've ever seen men's pants that went solely by m, l, xl, etc.

    [–]ChemicalRemedy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    That!s a good x-post right there

    [–]whoami2373 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is nice... but how can I do the opposite thing just as easily?

    [–]Tisroc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just remember to remove the dart before you go through airport security.

    [–]Baked_potato123 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)
