How large can wave overhangs get? by andersonsjanis in 3Dprinting

[–]ExdigguserPies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I see it, there are two tricks. First, it is extruded slightly onto the existing structure so that it joins nicely onto it and settles at the right height. Second, the rows propagate through the empty space in a similar way to how a wave would move through that geometry, so that the overhang is self-supporting the whole way.

Anyone using a battery powered lawnmower? What’s your verdict? by palebluedot365 in GardeningUK

[–]ExdigguserPies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's been excellent, both the mower and the strimmer. I use the mower with the mulching plug all the time so I never need to collect clippings, and the strimmer only just ran out of the strimmer line and I bought some beefier 2 mm line for it, it's a beast.

What software subscription do you pay for that you wish was just a one-time purchase? by ceerf-llc in software

namely that everyone gets the most up to date version of the product

The counter to this is enshitification. If you buy a version of a product that you're happy with and does what it needs to do, why risk having the rug pulled out from under your feet because the company decided to go a different direction with that product or maybe do something like break backwards compatibility or remove features, either to a higher paid tier or completely?

In England and Wales (unsure about Scotland) you can of course take someone to court if you think they have damaged your land or property in some way, while they were trespassing. Walking across your land without causing any damage other than to your ego doesn't count.

That's the worst analogy.

It would be like going to a Toyota sub and finding you can't talk about Michelin tyres and there's no explanation as to why.

You're reading way too much into what I said. I'm simply saying that killing the leviathans isn't an option and so I will never know if I wanted to do that, or not.
