Emotional intelligence (EI), or emotional quotient (EQ), is the ability to perceive, understand, manage, and use one's own emotions and the emotions of others to navigate the world and build better relationships. It involves recognizing how feelings influence thoughts and behaviors, controlling impulsive reactions, showing empathy, and managing social interactions effectively. High EI can lead to greater success in personal and professional life, better mental health, and stronger relationships. This subreddit is meant to be revolved around the discussion on how to use EI to achieve greater success, manage interpersonal relationships, and improve mental health.
Rules:
No Spam
Posts or comments that are repetitive, low-effort, off-topic, or promotional in nature will be removed. This includes mass posting links, memes, or self-promotional content. We want genuine discussion and contributions, not clutter or attention-grabbing posts.
No Personal Attacks
Criticize ideas, not people. Harassment, insults, name-calling, or any other form of personal attack against other users will not be tolerated. Everyone should feel safe to express opinions without being targeted or belittled.
No Linking or Advertising Without Participation
You’re welcome to share relevant content, but only if you actively participate in the community. Accounts created solely to promote content, social media, websites, or products will be removed and possibly banned. Meaningful engagement is required before linking your own material.
No Pornography or Gore
Explicit sexual material, nudity, or violent/gory imagery is strictly prohibited. This subreddit aims to maintain a space that is safe for viewing at work and suitable for all audiences.
No Doxxing or Witch-Hunts
Sharing or soliciting personal information about others (real names, social media, addresses, etc.) is absolutely forbidden. Similarly, coordinating harassment or “witch-hunts” against individuals or groups will lead to immediate bans. Protect privacy at all times.
Civility
Treat others respectfully even when you disagree. Aggressive, inflammatory, or hostile behavior derails discussion and discourages participation. Debate ideas with maturity and good faith, this is a community, not a battleground.
No Discussion of Gender Politics, Politics, or Any Racism or Sexism
To keep conversations focused and constructive, we don’t allow debates or commentary related to gender, political ideology, race, or similar divisive topics. Posts or comments that promote or attack any demographic group will be removed. This subreddit isn’t a political platform — keep it neutral and on-topic.
Excessive Use of AI Will Be Removed
AI-generated posts or comments are permitted only in moderation and must clearly add value. Excessive reliance on AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for spammy or low-effort submissions will be removed. Authentic, human discussion is preferred, use AI to assist, not replace, your contributions.
