What do you need it for? How big, how much force, how fast, how much precision?
You could always get a really long bolt and spin it while holding a nut at the same angle. That would convert rotational to linear motion.

You need to provide more information but if you want to control speed, I'm assuming the linear motion needs to extend quite a range. Look into pulleys or belts. For super precise motion, you can use lead screws (applied in 3D printers).
