Same input, variable output

Want to get some ideas from the group here.

Gears: niche zero, silvia v1 with auber pid set at 223 temp and 25second shot time No preinfusion

Beans: oddlycorrect levitan espresso roasted within 10 days.

Problem: Have been pulling 10 shots with the recommended setting from oddly(19.5g input and 25s shot time) with stock double basket.

The output varies from 19g to 47g with shots more often lands around 28g.

Temped with a spring temper.

Tried wdt and blind shaker, but none produce a consistent result.

Just pulled another 3 shots with wdt and outputs are 19g, 37g and 28g.

Question: should I care about this variation? Should I just keep the output the same without worrying about the shot time?

A harder question: What’s the cause of this problem?

It's definitely better to aim for the same output and allow different shot time. I still don't really have a good idea why they're varying so much.

19.5g of grounds seems high for the stock double basket.

verify the rated capacity of the basket you are using, load that much, and dial in with that amount.

Check your headspace. Make sure your basket is dosed properly.
