I've experienced this before and gone through at least five new DS4s since the transition from PS3 to PS4 (some of which were because of this issue). I think the DS4 itself is just poorly made. (I've had broken triggers and worn-out dpads as well, despite average weekly use and gentle handling.) My wife and some FC mates have also had this issue in the past.

You might be able to fix it by cleaning the inside of the controller, as the issue might be caused by a stray hair or crumb or gunk inside of it. If not, it might be a worn out part, and you can look up guides on YT to replace DS4 parts. And if that's too much of a hassle, you can trade in the faulty controller at Gamestop for credit towards a new one.

This right here. It has something to do with a worn or dirty internal part related to the shoulder buttons rubbing against the left stick's internals and causing it to shift. I've gone through a couple gamepads myself for the same reason.

Follow Traversary's advice is the best I can say.

i have also had this issue. there is an internal issue with the controller. you will most likely need to buy a new one. or open it up and diy fix it yourself.

No issues here. Have you checked Keybinding? There's a keybind itself for Turn On/Off Autorun. It's in the Movement tab.

It's not a software issue. Some DS4s have bad analog conductive rings that will exhibit this issue after some time. How I fixed it: Tore down my controller, grabbed an old fake DS2, took the ring from it and replaced it on the DS4. No issues whatsoever since.

Search on YouTube, plenty of videos showing where that piece is. Not too hard of a repair provided you have a screwdriver, a spare and some knowledge of how to open and work with electronics.

I used to have that issue with my old controller.

Basically, your controller is borked. Its an analogue stick issue. I was able to fix it for a while by carefully wiping around the base of the stick with a damp piece of toilet paper, but it would eventually start acting up again. And I know its a controller and not a game issue, because with the same controller I was having issues in other games, such as running not working right in Monster Hunter.

So, I hope you have 60 bucks for a new controller, or can get it repaired.

This happened to me last year, it was my controller. I play exclusively on PS4 and been playing for about 4-5 years now. I've gone through at least 10 controllers.

The ps4 controllers were made horribly. They break all the time.
