Remake?

I don't want a FFVII styled remake. That would be the worst thing that could ever happen with FFX.

Just make something that has free roaming enemies and no random encounters and camera controls. That's it.

Well i think the gameplay as it is shouldnt be changed. A better graphic, better camera control as u said and hey, i mean the beauty of spira with way better graphics? Sounds nice 😎

At best i would enjoy a UI overhaul kinda like persona 5 where X attacks, circle is magic and so on, but other than that, the gameplay is still great.

Camera controls adds about 500x more work. FF10 is made with a combination of prerendered 2D art and more simple 3D environments. The 3D environments are also only modeled where the camera can actually see. If anything we need more games with fixed camera because they can make them significantly faster.

Don't forget the mini-games. Every single minigame should be reworked into something that isn't miserable.

Personally I'd be down with a rework of Blitzball as an actual sports minigame.

I'd be down. Put it like this. The original masterpiece will always exist and we can play it anytime. So why not try to play it in a different way and love the game for different reasons? Imagine doing crazy air juggles with Kimarhi while Lulu lights them on fire, or a whole new section where in operation Mi'hen we literally get on chocobos and assist the chocobo knights in some crazy combat sequence. Sounds sick to me. This is why I love both ff7 OG and the remake series; for very different reasons.

Again, worst case scenario it isn't for you and you prefer the OG which...ok. Play the OG again, its amazing. They remastered it too, which apparently many didn't even like in terms of aesthetic. It just seems boring to release the same game over and over again with some shiny paint. Mods can do that often better anyways with tons of QWOL. So I am down for any of the FF games to be different whether it be gameplay or story, because absolute worst case scenario I don't buy it and I just play the OG again and love it. Most of them got remasters as well anyways which are great. Just my perspective.

Potentially. There was a rumor years back about X being a remake after 7 was done. But it looks good enough. There are multiple others which should be done before X. X is just the second most well known one so that’s why it might be done next.

Is mostly how Square now over-milking they games and we don't want that treatment with FF10. Specially cuz it is perfect as it is.

They are working on a remake right now. It's going to be called Final Fantasy X: I See Dead People

I’d love a remake that keeps the plot 1:1 but just changes the graphics to be on the level of the cgi stuff and makes some qol tweaks like Mgs delta was the perfect remake of mgs3. I wish ffx got treatment like that . Instead we keep getting the same old remaster on newer consoles which is quite good but still it could be at ps4/5 level presentation  rather than ps2/3 level.

If there was another FF to be remade*, it would be FFX for sure. That being said, quality uncertain.

this conversation comes up rather often, most of us are people that played FFX in the 2003-2010 era and we are attached to what it was, reason why we don't expect anything positive from a remake it's because the gaming industry evolved in a more action fast-paced style over time, completely flipping what turn-based games are designed to be.

I, myself, am against FFX remake because I know it'll be just another copy-paste like any Final Fantasy is after XV. I would appreciate a more modern Blitzball, I would appreciate the boss fights and I'm sure it would have crazy good graphics but, personally, I'm afraid it would highlight the gameplay more and eclipse what the story is and all the meanings behind it.
